Day 1
Arrival with an overnight at Serena Hotel, Hotel Africana. BB
Day 2
After breakfast, transfer to Fort Portal with a stop over for lunch en-route.
Relax at your hotel in the afternoon. Overnight at Ataco Country Resort
or Rwenzori View Guest House. FB
Day 3
After Breakfast go for chimpanzee tracking. You will also see and other
primates including l’hoestes, red colobus, blue red tailed and gray
cheeked mangabey. Enjoy the services of our guide who will give you detailed
information on primates, forest, flora and fauna. Afternoon visit to Bigodi
swamp, see other mammals and primates including the rare red Columbus
monkey and the sitatunga. Overnight at Ataco Country Resort or Rwenzori
View Guest House. FB
Day 4
Depart Fort Portal in the morning after breakfast and go through Uganda’s
beautiful scenic areas which will produce the scenic views of the Mountains
of the moon. Have a stop over at the Equator en-route. Proceed to the
Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving at Mweya Safari Lodge in time for
lunch. After lunch proceed for an evening game drive where you will also
see the crater Lakes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5
After an early Breakfast we’ll go for a morning game drive in the
Park. Expect to see the famous Big Five; Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Bush
bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas and Waterbucks.
In the afternoon we’ll take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga
channel and you will appreciate the scores of Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles
close to the waterside, if lucky we shall as well view the rare Leopard
prowling. There is a variety of bird species especially the famous Shoebill,
and other migratory species. Dinner and o/n at the lodge.
Day 6
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest by driving through the ‘Switzerland
of Africa an area known as Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside
and winding roads. Pass through Ishasha where if lucky we shall have an
opportunity to see the tree climbing lions or take the alternative route
through the cultivated area. Overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Lake
Kitandara Tented Camp. FB
Day 7
Go for gorilla tracking walking up steeply in the dense rain forest through
different trails crisscrossed by animals allowing access to tourists.
Gorilla tracking is an inspiring and wonderful adventure which one can’t
afford to miss. The Gorillas are and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable
experience to watch and photograph them as they interact. Overnight stay
at Gorilla Forest Camp or L. Kitandara Tented Camp. FB
Day 8
After early morning breakfast depart towards the volcanic formations to
Kisoro as you view the crater lakes and the beautiful scenery enroute
reaching in time for lunch then an afternoon visit to the viewing platform
at the main gate where spectacular views of the volcanoes; Muhavura, Gahinga
and Sabinyo in their full splendor are apparent, Visit the unique Garama
cave where the Batwa who are naturally hunters once lived with dinner
and o/n stay at Volcano Rest Camp or travelers Inn.
DAY 9
After an early breakfast, go for a briefing at the park headquarters;
then go for the unique Golden Monkey tracking the activity is amazing
and begins under the gaze of the imposing volcanoes. It is advisable to
go along with a picnic lunch, drinking water, rain jacket and jungle boots,
rangers will be able to provide you with a walking stick. There is no
fixed time for seeing as it depends on the distance to where they are.
Dinner and o/n at the camp or the Inn.
Day 10
After an early morning breakfast, we transfer to Kampala, a stop over at Mpambire Royal Drum Makers where we shall be able to have a view of the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations. There will also be time to stop at the Equator for photographs. Drive to Entebbe International Airport arriving in time ready to catch your flight back home or spend the night at Serena or Africana Hotel.
